Enjoy an evening of Art and Nature unique to SWFL on the lush botanical grounds of Shangri La Springs in Bonita Springs.

The Historic Shangri-La Springs monthly Art & Nature night will guide you through a multi-media artistic experience unique to South West Florida. If you have not visited this beautifully-preserved piece of old Florida, the free community night on the second Wednesday of the month from 6pm-9pm is a great time to go. You will be awed as you walk into the circa 1921 Great House with live Baby Grand Piano, double bass and percussion. A featured live artist swirls colors to the music as patrons head to the organic wine bar, with beer supplied by the local brewery Momentum, take in the scene sip by sip. A glide into the art gallery dining room and guests are invited to an organic dinner with a wall of windows overlooking the giant Mysore fig tree in the courtyard. A walk outside and you will be mesmerized by the Paper Grotto Theatre and Emmy Award-winning Kat Epple on flute. You will be guided to the Longhouse by the music of Debo on the Hammered Dulcimer as she entertains the room full of interactive artists including Jane Portaluppi Durand who works on her latest masterpiece in the form of sidewalk chalk art, live pottery making, live poetry and book binding. In the Spa, guests receive free mini spa treatments. A step into the newly-renovated Octagon and you can partake in free community yoga and other classes throughout the night. As you enjoy the acres of verdant landscape you will be happy you brought along your drum so you can join in the community drumming circle which welcomes all levels and ages. You cannot possibly experience it all so come back monthly as this night will continue to amaze and highlight this historic property and all it has to offer the community. Paper Grotto LIVE...

is a Video, Dance and Music performance inside a giant paper sculpture set. The performers appear and disappear inside the sculpture installation as it is built from the inside out. The video projection on sculpture and dance creates a mesmerizing look into a hyper-real "living painting".

About the BLOOM featured artists

Julie Carlson

Accents by Julie was started more than twenty years ago by Julie Carlson. She attended the University of Minnesota, various art schools, studied with professional artists, and exhibited throughout the country. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience bringing out the best charm in botanical images, floral designs, trees, and foliage. You can count on Julie to design an amazing custom oil painting for you at a reasonable price.

Julie works with different budgets and no job is too big or too small. She has a large assortment of paintings, even oversized, available in her studio, located in Bonita Springs, FL.

Julie resides in Southwest Florida and loves the peace, beauty, and freedom found in nature.

Mally Khorasantchi

Mally Khorasantchi

Born soon after the end of World War II in Dusseldorf, Germany, Mally (Breuer) Khorasantchi discovered her lifelong love of drawing and painting as a young child. Khorasantchi studied with several noted professional German artists who nurtured her artistic development and by the 1990s, she had two solo exhibitions of her work in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Khorasantchi immigrated to United States and became a permanent resident of Florida in 1992 and an American citizen in 2006. A successful, full time professional artist since 2005, her work has been collected by both private and corporate clients both in the U.S. and abroad. Khorasantchi was awarded with the prestigious "Stars in the Arts Award" by the United Arts Council of Collier County in 2014.

The State of Florida's Capitol building in Tallahassee has featured a solo exhibition of her work during the summer months of 2014. A solo exhibition of her paintings was shown at the Walter Wickiser Gallery, New York, in the fall of 2014.

Mally Khorasantchi maintains her studio in southwest Florida.

Donna Hope

Oil Painter – Naples, FL
Donna is an accomplished realistic artist that has worked many years in perfecting her own painting techniques. Using these techniques, she slowly layers the paint on the canvas to capture the beauty of light and shadow in her inspirational oil paintings. The use of dark backgrounds makes each paintings explode off the canvas with vivid color. She is inspired by the beauty of flowers, animals, and landscapes. Donna's work has won awards in art shows and has been exhibited in Galleries. She has been featured in local newspapers, journals and is a member of Naples Art District. Her work is hanging in hundreds of homes across America.
